Christmas CHRISTMAS – PLEASE, DON’T SWALLOW THE ADVENT!
The glory and glamour of Christmas are real.
We feel like and move on to capture the deal,
To celebrate and jubilate with Christmas’ rich meal,
Forgetting, ignoring the other side of Advent.
Which tells us that Advent precedes our Christmas,
But moves on to think of far distant future,
When Christ in his glory will come to feature.
Let us remember that Advent is here,
While Christmas however is still there.
The Advent prepares us for that Second Coming
Not only the feast of the First Coming.
So let us wait for the time of Christmas
And allow the Advent prepare us too,
With prayer, penance and joyful expectation
For the Second Coming of Christ, the judge.
