HIFA brings Africa to Austria – with exhibitions, workshops and festivals that bring the country, culture and everyday life of Nigeria closer to children, young people and adults. A retrospective of our activities in Rabenstein.
Our Exhibition
The exhibition comprises 400 exhibits – many items from everyday life in Nigeria, covering religion, culture, school education, the country and its people.
“Experience Africa with all your senses”
For three days, children and young people were able to experience, learn and try out something related to Africa at 13 stations. In 2011, a total of 200 students from Rabenstein as well as 2 classes from Vienna (Steinbrechergasse Middle School) attended.
Dancing, Palm Wine and Plantain
The conclusion and highlight after the three-day workshops “Experience Africa with all your senses” was the Africa Festival. Many people came to dance with us, drink palm wine, taste plantain and yam, and marvel at the presentations from the workshops.
