In the northwest of Entebbe, in Bulwany, Uganda, HIFA has built something that goes beyond an orphanage:
a self-sustaining ecosystem of protection, education, vocational training and agriculture.
Children find here not only a roof over their heads —
but real prospects for a self-determined life.

The Bulwany farm – self-sufficiency as a foundation
On the farmland in Bulwany, staple foods are grown for the orphanage
and two cattle are kept. A well financed by HIFA supplies the entire site
with clean water – and at the same time helps surrounding farmers for a small contribution.
The farm makes the orphanage partially independent of external supply chains
and gives the children a sense of agriculture and responsibility.
Three locations – one path into the future
The Entebbe orphanage is not a single building, but a network of three facilities
that build on one another – from the care of the youngest to the vocational training of the youth.
