Patricia used to climb tall trees to collect Oha leaves – her profession, with which she single-handedly fed seven children. Then she fell from the ladder. She has been paralyzed ever since.

What individual aid means
Individual aid is not a project with fixed structures – it is a response to real cries for help. A phone call, a letter, a message – and HIFA examines whether and how help can be provided. Unbureaucratic, personal, direct.
Medical devices also help save lives: Thanks to donations, ultrasound devices, lung X-ray machines and anesthesia machines have already been delivered to hospitals in Nigeria.
An ultrasound device enables diagnoses that would otherwise be impossible. An X-ray machine saves people with tuberculosis. Sometimes it is a device that makes the difference – not a grand gesture.
