In the slum area of Okpoko, Nigeria, there is a woman who gives up everything –
and gives everything. Dr. Sr. Joyce Ezeugo, physician and religious sister,
grew up here herself. She does not know this poverty from books,
but from her own life. And that is exactly why she keeps going back –
again and again, several times a year.

Dr. Sr. Joyce Chika Ezeugo
Physician · Religious sister · Okpoko project leader · grew up in the slum
Joyce grew up in the slum area of Okpoko.
Today she returns as a physician – to help the people
who have no other option. She trains multipliers,
leads free treatment days, saves babies through emergency C-sections
and regularly travels to Austria to report on the reality in Okpoko.
She is the heart of this project.

💡 The multiplier approach – knowledge that stays
Dr. Joyce does not only treat – she trains.
Local multipliers are trained to advise the population on important health topics
in the long term. This way, every mission has an impact far beyond the day itself.
